As we see planning granted for an extension to the magnificent Centre Parcs facility in Longford, we reflect on the role we had within ACB Group in being the roofing and cladding contractor of choice for elements of the €233 million development.

Working alongside John Sisk and Sons as the main contractor, ACB Group installed 11,000m2 of flat roofing and 8,000m2 of an Aluminium Standing Seam Roof to the feature curved roof of the Subtropical Swimming Paradise (STSP).

This 8,000m2 of Roofing consists of a Hyperbolic parabolic (double curved) shape. The internal environment is heated to 29.5 degrees all year round with other amenities such as water rapids, slides, and tides.

ACB Group developed a 3D Revit model of this design and constructed it virtually prior to going into production. Each element of the built-up system was modelled fully for millimetre-perfect precision allowing the Aluminium Top skin Sheet to fit within tolerance while allowing for expansion and contraction.

ACB Group were delighted to be involved in this prestigious project and consider early engagement a key driver in its overall success.
